The human body in all its facets is the focus of the current exhibition in the depot of the SpallArt Collection in Salzburg. The selection shows extraordinary pictorial compositions that explore the beauty, power and vulnerability of the body. Discover the human body from new perspectives, from early movement studies by Eadweard Muybridge and dance photographs by Barbara Morgan, Ellen Auerbach and James Welling to the movement of the body in sleep, captured in long-term photographs by Paul Maria Schneggenburger, body experiments by the Viennese actionists Günter Brus, Otto Muehl and Rudolf Schwarzkogler and body bondage by Nobuyoshi Araki, iconic nude photographs by Rudolf Koppitz, Edward Weston and František Drtikol, the female body in its social dimension in pictures by Aria Watson, Valie EXPORT, Anna Jermolaewa and much more. The works are presented in the collection's depot in the usual variety and breadth of motifs, epochs and techniques, offering an interesting look behind the scenes of a private art collection.
