The title "imaginary meeting of a pair of houses" exactly describes our perception of the picture: once, the left half of the picture showed the saddle roof of the adjacent, now demolished, house, whereby the remaining wall could not be plastered. The shadow of a house standing behind the photographer overlaps with the unplastered area of the same shape.
