Without knowing the title, it is difficult to identify the specific object of the image. Siskind’s highly sensitised perception of abstract forms lets us see a formation structured by light and shadow that contrasts with the blurred background. Only when taking a closer look, the concrete theme reveals as horseback. Now the perception of the spectator can swing between the concrete horseback and the abstract forms.
