In 1978, Jack Anderson wrote in the New York Times in his review of the play: "The corps de ballet was at its best in the Waltz of the Snowflakes, an intricate, swirling ensemble for which Mr. Baryshnikov, instead of devising his own choreography, borrowed the choreography created by Vasily Vainonen for the Kirov Ballet in Leningrad."
