Elfriede Mejchar shows here a typical Austrian landscape, probably in Upper Austria. What is interesting here is the almost arbitrary-looking cropping of the picture, which literally integrates us into the scenery of the picture. In the tradition of New Objectivity and Albert Renger-Patzsch (as in S-230) Mejchar creates space by cropping the trees in the foreground. The field path running to the back under the fruit trees literally invites us as viewers to take a walk.
