"Die Wiederkehr"

The series "Die Wiederkehr", comprising a total of 20 photos, gives rise to the hope that at some point it will rise like a phoenix from the ashes. Created in the Camargue (FR), the photographs show Katalin Zahornicky, the artist's wife, disappearing in the waves of the sea. In the context of the Venus of Willendorf, the myth of Aphrodite, the "foam-born", who rose from the sea in Cyprus after the ancient poet Hesiod, comes to mind. Here, the Greek goddess of beauty and love chooses the path back to her origin, leaving only her dress and a footprint, in order to perhaps one day be reborn.
