In 1972 Alfons Eggert invented "combinatorial photography", a process of non-objective photography produced by a special apparatus and based on mathematical calculation patterns in combination with colour filters. In graphic colour and circle compositions, combinatorial photography explores the aesthetic content hidden in the film material. The basis for this are programme sheets that clearly describe each individual composition.
