Source material for photographic recording: The passport photo template for checking the biometric suitability from Deutsche Bundesdruckerei was sent to Austrian professional photographers by the Austrian Photographers' Guild in Vienna. Such templates were published by the interior ministries of all EU states. As these templates do not fit children's faces well, special templates for children were later developed in Germany. The Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) has also modified the template in the meantime. Nevertheless, this original template is used by many Austrian commercial photographers for the production of passport photographs. Together with the Guild of Professional Photographers and the Austrian State Printing Office, the BMI supports the website www.passbildkriterien.at, where the various international standards for passport photographs are available.
