Comment

Birds as a picture motif make it possible to apply abstract design principles through their movement in the air. In Koppitz's work, a neutral surface is given almost without transition by the combination of the skies grey tones and the snow-covered ground in front of which the trees and birds are located, while Giacomelli sets the horizon low and thus creates a large neutral surface to show the most varied silhouettes of seagulls in flight.
