Goya 200 years ago: “Self-portrait in the studio”. The man is wearing a hat, the brim set with candles so that he can work at the easel at night. Because some painters took their straw hat for this purpose (as modeled by Kirk Douglas in the 1956 Van Gogh film), they sometimes burned the hat. This is the scene that Irene Andessner has restaged.
