The concentration on the pictured object is totally undisturbed due to the black image carrier. At the same time, the blossoms seem – due to refined lighting – to glow and appear monumental due to the low eye point.
In this smaller-format picture, Castell breaks the coherence of the composition by cutting the yellow tulip at the top and by barely keeping the flowers on the edge in the picture.
