Belgian photographer Raymond Dubuission captures here in a snapshot two Napolion guardsmen stepping out. The men are participants in the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse folklore march. The marches of Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse are an important part of the cultural identity of the region of the same name between the Sambre and Meuse rivers in Wallonia, Belgium. The marches commemorate the dedication of churches in many villages and small towns. The processions consist of several military-style companies, and each company includes dozens or even hundreds of marchers in period military uniforms. See more at https://ich.unesco.org
The marches of Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse have been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco since 2012.
