"Under the Rose" (sub rosa) is a medieval code for secrecy - what is told "under the rose" remains in the dark. The symbol of secrecy is in the process of dissolving due to the optical regression. The work is a continuation of the preoccupation with the local flora, on which Michaela Bruckmüller has been engaged in a photographic and botanical search for traces for several years.
