The video "Schmelze" (2012) deals with different states or stages of archiving cultural assets, which, in the movement of thawing, move in the field of tension between autonomy and external influence. In the process, the ice and thus also the process of freezing or melting is thematized as a source of archaeology.
The fragment stands here for itself, as an independent body that is involved in various transformation processes. These include the breaking and subsequent scattering of the cultural artefacts. Here the question of completeness, i.e. the urge to restore or to hold on to something, is raised.
